Broadband and hybrid wide area networks (WANs) company, Silver Peak, has appointed former Juniper Networks executive Anthony Sarkis as sales director for Australia and New Zealand.

During an 18-year IT career, Sarkis spent eight years at Juniper, working in channels, commercial sales, as a wireless sales specialist and looking after major accounts.

Previously, he also worked with Aruba Networks, Tech Pacific Australia, RPM Technologies and Timelink.

Doug Farndale, Asia-Pacific Vice President said Sarkis is tasked with accelerating growth and adoption of the company’s “industry-leading” SD-WAN solution in ANZ.

“Many companies in Australia and New Zealand are eager to find ways to use the Internet to connect their users to applications and reduce their networking costs,” Farndale said.

“These are exciting times in the industry and specifically for Silver Peak. We are thrilled to have someone of Anthony’s experience and proven track record join our team.”

Sarkis said he sees “huge opportunities for Silver Peak in Australia and New Zealand”, and looks forward to working with partners and customers in the region to build on the company’s success in reducing the costs and complexity of WAN connectivity by using broadband.
