Olaf unfrozen from COO position to become head of Capgemini A/NZ

Ok, so I'm getting my Olafs innocently confused for a laugh, but Olaf Pietschner has been promoted from A/NZ chief operating officer to new head of Capgemini A/NZ, succeeding Nicolas Aidoud who said "I do" to new opportunities.

The appointment of Pietschner takes effect immediately.

Luc-Francois Salvador, executive chairman of Capgemini in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, said:

“Olaf has been a key member of our executive team and is a proven leader with extensive industry experience and operational expertise.

"As we move forward into the next phase of our continued transformation and growth, Olaf’s extensive experience in business, technology consulting and digital transformation will strengthen our innovation agenda to address the business ambitions of our clients, aligning our service portfolio with customer demand for both innovation and competitiveness.

"Asia Pacific is Capgemini’s fastest growing region and a top priority for the Group as we continue to capitalise on the opportunities in this market. I would like to thank Nicolas for his leadership and his contribution to the Australian business.”

We're reminded that Pietschner joined Capgemini in May 2017 as executive vice-president and chief operating officer.

Since then, he has played a pivotal role in driving Capgemini’s offerings in intelligent technology, shaping a client centric portfolio to drive competitiveness and growth, while providing leadership to the energy and utilities; public sector; and telecommunications, media and entertainment business units.

Prior to joining Capgemini, Olaf held key executive roles in both client and services organisations.

He said: "I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead Capgemini in Australia and New Zealand as we continue to build on our momentum for growth.

"With over 2000 employees working with our clients in the Top 50 ASX listed companies and major public sector organisations, we will continue to leverage our investments in Digital and Cloud, taking a client centric approach to drive our clients’ innovation priorities for real business outcomes."
