Nimble appoints Australia, NZ chief

Global flash storage solutions vendor Nimble Storage has appointed former VMware sales executive Bede Hackney as managing director of its Australian, New Zealand business.

Hackney, a 20 year IT industry veteran, will be based in Nimble’s Sydney office and be responsible for leading the company’s sales and go-to-market strategy and enhancing momentum for the its presence in Australia and New Zealand in the enterprise and cloud service provider markets.

Previously director of sales at VMware, Hackney also worked for seven years at Citrix in several strategic management roles, and was also ANZ Country Manager for Packeteer, responsible for its WAN Optimisation and Bandwidth Management business.

Nimble Vice President Asia Pacific and Japan, Peter O’Connor said Nimble Storage, said Hackney joins Nimble “at a critical time when businesses are looking for a single storage platform for optimising enterprise-wide applications, boosting productivity and gaining greater agility.”

“His experience and leadership will be critical for our company growth in Australia and New Zealand."

Commenting on his appointment, Hackney said Nimble had “a great opportunity to assist enterprise customers with a portfolio of solutions where IT managers are no longer forced to make trade-offs in building and managing independent storage silos to support tiered applications and workload.”
