Document productivity software company Nitro Software has appointed Craig Scroggie to its board as an independent non-executive director.

"Earlier this year, as part of our board renewal process, we commenced the search for a new independent non-executive director. Craig is the perfect addition to the team, bringing valuable skills and expertise to help guide the company through its next stage of growth," said Nitro co-founder and CEO Sam Chandler.

"With his extensive enterprise software experience and a track record of building a multi-billion-dollar business on the ASX, we're delighted to have Craig join the Nitro board."

Scroggie, the CEO and managing director of data centre operator NextDC, will take up the directorship on 1 September 2021.

His more than 25 years of experience in the ICT industry include executive leadership positions at enterprise software companies such as Symantec, Veritas Software, Computer Associates and EMC.

Scroggie is also chairman of the La Trobe University Business School and is an adjunct professor in the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce.

He holds an MBA from the University of Southern Queensland, and is a graduate and fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

"Nitro has established itself as a serious player in document workflow and esignatures, and has an amazing opportunity to take a leadership position in the global document productivity market," said Scroggie.

"I am excited to join the team and look forward to supporting Sam and the board as the company executes on its ambitious growth plans."
