MGM Wireless has appointed former GoPro and Walt Disney marketing and sales executive Jason Le as director of digital marketing, strategy and product development to spearhead online sales for its Spacetalk children’s smartphone watch.

Le has 15 years regional and international experience working with US-based companies to grow their APAC businesses.

His most recent role was with GoPro where he held the senior position of regional marketing manager responsible for Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia.

Prior to GoPro, Le had roles at The Walt Disney Company as sales manager, Australia and NZ, and he also worked for Oakley as brand manager and for American video game developer and publisher THQ as the company’s business manager.

Le joins MGM Wireless’ sales and distribution team reporting to Paul Cooper, general manager, and alongside national sales manager Amanda Lee.

Lee, who has worked for Telstra Shop franchisee Vita Group, JB HiFi, Microsoft, Blackberry and Motorola, joined the company in April as national sales manager to build MGM’s bricks and mortar distribution. Cooper has been with MGM for 11 months after working, over 15 years, with Microsoft and Nokia Mobile and Networks.

MGM Wireless chief executive and executive chairman Mark Fortunatow said that the appointments of Le and Lee reflected the company’s commitment to developing its online and bricks and mortar distribution.

“The company is thrilled with its recent high calibre executive appointments to the AllMyTribe management team. We are building a highly qualified and experienced executive management team to accelerate SPACETALK sales, develop our brands and products with the goal of becoming a leading children’s and family wearables company," Fortunatow said.

“These excellent people will build on the significant initial success we’re already achieved and will drive the business to a whole new level.”

Fortunatow said with executive appointments, the company would now run its SPACETALK sales and marketing operations from new offices in Prahran, Melbourne.
