Marelas joins New Relic as regional chief architect


Observability specialist New Relic has appointed Peter Marelas to the role of chief architect for Asia Pacific and Japan.

He will be instrumental in delivering our industry-leading observability solutions to help our customers bring new perspectives in delivering return on investment for their digital assets," said New Relic APJ senior vice president Ben Goodman.

Observability offers real-time visibility across systems with powerful telemetry data, and the ability to correlate, contextualise and visualise the data for impactful business insights. Marelas brings more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry to his new role.

He joins the company from Dell Technologies, where he most recently served as APJ data protection solutions CTO.

Before his decade at Dell and EMC, Marelas held architect positions at Telstra, Symantec and Storage Technologies. Earlier in his career he worked as a senior consultant at Fulcrum Consulting after a short period in systems and network administration.

He is currently completing a masters in data science with James Cook University, and holds seven patents relating to data management, data storage, machine learning and cloud.
