Hitachi Vantara hires Johnson as ANZ leader

Data specialist Hitachi Vantara has appointed Adrian Johnson as vice president and managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

"Adrian joins Hitachi Vantara ANZ as we continue to strengthen and foster our channel network and partner ecosystem in support of the digital-led transformation of organisations across the region," said Hitachi Vantara APAC senior vice president and general manager Daniel Chong.

"Adrian will drive local co-creation opportunities and innovative data-driven strategies that aim to deliver business value and accelerate digital transformation for our customers and partners."

Johnson has more than 20 years of IT experience, and was most recently ANZ general manager at software company Liferay.

He previously held senior management positions at Code42, Dell, Fuji Xerox, CA Technologies and Sun Microsystems.

Earlier in his career he served as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy.

Johnson holds a bachelor's degree in management from the University of Wollongong and a master's degree in business and IT from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

"Cloud adoption is advancing into true multicloud strategies supported by hyperconverged infrastructures and data analytics," he said.

"This kind of progress is exciting for people who do the kind of work we do at Hitachi Vantara."
