Financial services veteran Mark Reid appointed managing director of Global Payments Featured

Wholesale payment technology and software solutions provider Global Payments has appointed experienced retail and business financial services professional Mark Reid as managing director for Australia and New Zealand. 

Reid’s previous roles include CEO positions at Bankwest, ASX-listed Cash Converters and Greenstone Insurance.

Global Payments says Reid has more than 30 years of international retail and business financial services leadership experience, with a proven track record of delivering transformational sustainable profitable growth, organisational effectiveness and world class customer service.

“It’s a very exciting time to be joining Global Payments,” Reid said.

“There are significant growth opportunities in the Australian and New Zealand markets, and I am honoured to lead the team locally - all with the backing of a Fortune 500 company with worldwide reach.”

Konrad Chan, Global Payments’ President of the Asia Pacific region, said that Reid brings a wealth of financial services leadership experience in achieving commercial success and operational excellence across a number of businesses.

Global Payments owns and operates five brands in the APAC region, including payment technology platforms Ezidebit and Eway, and Global Payments Australia, which offers wholesale payment processing solutions to payment facilitators.

The company also owns SaaS businesses, Storman, the largest provider of self-storage management software in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and Sentral Education, a cloud-based school management software platform that currently services more than 3,000 schools in Australia.
