Security firm Bitdefender has appointed a new regional director for the Australia and New Zealand markets as part of moves to spearhead growth in the APAC region.

The appointment of Demetrios Georgiou to the role comes as Bitdefender announced a new partnership with distributor NEXTGEN which it says will allow more customers access to its cybersecurity technology through its distribution network.

“With our continued growth in ANZ, NEXTGEN allows us to focus on providing our cybersecurity solutions to a wider audience in the ANZ channel community,” said Georgiou.

“With the combination of our existing sales and marketing teams, we now have the flexibility required to rapidly scale into new, strategic markets.

“For us it was a no brainer, and we are excited by the prospect this new initiative brings to all of our ANZ channel partners.”

To support local growth, Bitdefender also recently appointed Shane Hoffman, to lead the ANZ channel strategy.

“Bitdefender solutions are an ideal fit for NEXTGEN's advanced enterprise software strategy. As cybersecurity continues to be a critical focus in IT with many new entrants, we’re excited to partner with Bitdefender to provide a best-in-class solution to manage this environment,” says Gavin Lawless, Managing Director of NEXTGEN.

“We have been acknowledged at a global level for our innovative approach to distribution. It’s what we call ‘distribution reinvented’ — and it relies on strategic partnerships with leading technology providers such as Bitdefender.”
