Benjamin Henshall new Denodo chief for Australia, New Zealand Featured

Data virtualisation company Denodo has appointed former Red Hat executive Benjamin Henshall as vice president for its Australia-New Zealand business.

Henshall joins Denodo after spending 13 years at Red Hat in a variety of leadership roles, including the latest as the General Manager of South East Asian Markets.

Denodo says Henshall will be responsible for developing and accelerating growth in both the Australian and New Zealand markets, which will involve building on existing relationships with customers, as well as expanding the company’s partner ecosystem.

Henshall’s appointment comes as Denodo is scaling its operation in the region following a period of steady expansion, and seeking to accelerate growth across all markets.

Responsibilities of the newly-created role will include overseeing all facets of sales, marketing, partners relationships, service delivery and post-implementation client success.

“I have been closely following Denodo’s worldwide growth, specifically in the ANZ region for the last few years,” said Henshall,

“I personally know the data related pain points of many organisations in the territory and I definitely believe Denodo has the right product to solve many of those problems. My near terms focus will be to build the awareness of Denodo’s product and solution, not only working with my colleagues at Denodo but our amazing partner ecosystem in the ANZ region.”

Denodo says Henshall’s experience in ANZ-focused and APAC-wide roles for Red hat, coupled with prior experience at BEA Systems and Oracle, will be of “great benefit to Denodo during this period of targeted growth and expansion of operations”.

“Benjamin arrives at Denodo with an outstanding track record in open platform software and big data integration,” said Angel Vina, CEO and founder of Denodo.

“He has extensive experience across the region, and a large, valuable network of contacts from both the local channel and vertical industries across ANZ. We know he will prove to be a valuable asset to the company as we accelerate our growth in the region.”
