Perth-based IT services provider ASG Group has appointed digital transformation sector executive David Kerner to head its South Australian operations.

Kerner will oversee the ASG’s further expansion in South Australia, where the company and its predecessors have had a presence for more than three decades. His appointnemt follows the official opening of a new ASG national operations centre in Adelaide.

Kerner’s role will involve the recruitment of 100 new specialist IT staff over the next year, who will work at the NOC to service clients across Australia, providing digital transformation services to both the public and private sectors.

ASG says Kerner, during his time at the company, has devised strategies and overseen project delivery for a range of organisations, including SAPOL, SA Health, SA Power Networks, and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, as well as providing independent assurance of major business change programs in the state.

Chief operating officer Dean Langenbach said: “David brings a wealth of consulting experience from clients across numerous industry sectors, and has first-hand experience of shaping and managing the delivery of major business transformation programs.

“Since ASG’s acquisition by parent company Nomura Research Institute in 2016, we have grown substantially, with our South Australian operations continuing to win large, strategic contracts.”

“This appointment further solidifies ASG as the genuine alternative to the global players,” Kerner said.

“I look forward to doing my bit to progress Adelaide’s reputation for innovation in technology, and to consolidate ASG as the pre-eminent ‘go-to’ organisation in South Australia for ICT services."

Kerner said in South Australia, ASG had particular expertise in customer management and associated data and analytics, leveraging our partnerships to deploy platforms and solutions that helped provide valuable insights into customer behaviour.

ASG Group is part of the Nomura Research Institute, a Japanese-based consulting and IT group listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
