"Marjet's balance of proven sales leadership and industry expertise makes her the right person to pick up the mantle from DP," said Red Hat executive vice president of global sales and services Larry Stack.
"DP" is Andriesse's predecessor Dirk-Peter van Leeuwen, who has moved to the role of senior vice president and general manager of North America commercial sales.
"This is an exciting time for Red Hat and we have the right leaders in place to help our customers succeed," Stack added.
Andriesse joined Red Hat as vice president of sales in Asia Pacific in October 2020.
She has more than 25 years of broad industry experience, and previously worked for Telstra, most recently as managing director of APAC.
Andriesse also spent ten years at Randstad, culminating in the role of managing director of HR solutions. She previously worked in marketing and sales management at KPN and TNT Mail.
She holds a master's degree and a doctorate in economics from the University of Groningen (Netherlands).
"Since joining Red Hat, I have been impressed with the dedication Red Hatters show every day and their desire to serve our customers," said Andriesse.
"We have shown the power of open source in driving software innovation and our customers rely on us to guide them as they embrace an open hybrid cloud strategy. I'm humbled to step into this role and am ready to lead the team into the next phase as we look to continue delivering innovative technologies to the industry."
