Home People Moves Mitchell leads Veeam APJ operations

Availability vendor Veeam has appointed Gary Mitchell as its ANZ vice-president.

"At Veeam we have seen significant growth across the ANZ region in recent years as more and more businesses are adopting our availability solution for their business," said APJ senior vice-president Shaun McLagan.

"Gary's extensive experience from across the IT industry and the ability to drive operational excellence and sales success will help us in achieving our business growth goals in 2018 and beyond."

Mitchell joins Veeam from digital DevOps organisation Perfecto Mobile, where he was APJ director.

His 25-plus years of IT experience include regional management roles at CA Technologies, BMC Software, Enterasys/Extreme Networks and RSA/EMC.

He also has considerable experience in IT start-up initiatives within Australia and international organisations.

"The people I've met so far at Veeam have been very impressive – their knowledge, desire to win and to build highly successful teams. Also, everybody within the partner ecosystem that I spoke with all said that Veeam is a great company and they all have plans to invest even more in working with us in 2018," said Mitchell.

"This is all incredibly encouraging feedback and I know I can make a very positive contribution to Veeam in its next phase of growth."
