Canon Australia finds new MD across the ditch

Canon Australia has announced that Yusuke Mizoguchi will be the next managing director of Canon Australia and Canon Oceania.

As a result of the impending promotion of incumbent Canon Australia managing director, Canon New Zealand chairman and CiSRA chairman Taz Nakamasu (pictured below) to a role as executive officer of Canon Inc, Canon has chosen current Canon New Zealand managing director Yusuke Mizoguchi (pictured above) to these roles as well as unspecified other board positions.

"It is with great honour that I take on the leadership of Managing Director, Canon Australia and Oceania," said Mizoguchi.

"Everyone who works in the Canon Oceania region has tremendous respect for what Taz Nakamasu and his team have achieved during his tenure.

"I take on a business that is truly in great shape."

Mizoguchi's contribution to Canon New Zealand includes a full company reorganisation, investment in capability to drive customer engagement and the development of a strong leadership team to maximise business results, the company said.

Taz Namakasu

While Nakamasu's promotion is testament to his abilities, the company noted that he led the first two acquisitions in the region (SunStudios and Harbour IT), oversaw the integration of Océ, drove strong profitability in Oceania, and led a number of major projects and initiatives, including the relocation and design of Canon Australia's new headquarters and the redesign of working practices.
