Flight Centre outsources Dynamics AX management

By

Flight Centre operates in 12 countries, and has decided to run 22,000 seats of Microsoft Dynamics AX on Azure. This will be the largest deployment of its kind.

Flight Centre is a long-time advocate of remote computing, having adopted the thin client model about a decade ago.

But the company isn't going it alone with the Dynamics AX on Azure rollout. Instead it has engaged Dynamics specialist SaaSplaza to handle the implementation and management.

"SaaSplaza was selected to provide their AX Management Services to Flight Centre for three main reasons," said Flight Centre group CIO Peter Wataman.

"They have extensive knowledge of delivering Dynamics on Azure, proven experience in managing AX, and they are very comfortable working in collaboration with Dynamics ISVs to manage integrated solutions.

"For a project of this scale and complexity we need these skills and experience."

It will involve the use of Azure services in multiple locations including Australia, the US and Europe.

"When a business the size of Flight Centre moves to the Microsoft cloud, it sends a strong signal to similar enterprises," said SaaSplaza founder and APAC director Herb Prooy.

SaaSplaza opened an Australian office last spring.
