Ed Meyercord, the president and chief executive of Extreme Networks has written to the company’s customers today (17 July in the US, 18 July today for us,) noting the completion of a major acquisition.
The acquisition process started in March, as iTWire reported at the time.
Meyercord wished “Greetings” to his readers, with the rest of his email below – which naturally proudly boasts of the benefits the merger will bring, and says all the right things you’d want to hear if you are a customer of either company. Details below.
“Most importantly, this acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver end-to-end networking solutions to better support the digital transformation of your business.
“Avaya’s networking solutions complement our existing portfolio of award winning wired and wireless software-driven networking solutions and services. You will now have access to Avaya’s pioneering fabric technology for highly secure, simplified access, management and control of your campus data centre, core and edge environments.
“In addition, Avaya brings us a new family of high performance modular switches being launched this summer that provide expanded options for our chassis-based switching customers.
“The combined portfolios are available today, as is our highly regarded customer service program, ExtremeWorks, which is currently the most reviewed and second highest rated for Service & Support on Gartner Peer Insights.
“It has been an exciting year for Extreme! When you add our investment in research and development with our acquisition of Zebra’s WLAN business, Avaya Networking and our pending purchase of Brocade’s data center business, we can now offer you a significantly enhanced, state of the art, newly-refreshed portfolio of networking solutions.
“We take pride in being a “customer first” business. We are the only company in our industry exclusively focused on delivering end-to-end networking solutions with 100% insourced technical support.
“You and your business are our number one priority. We make all of our business decisions, including acquisition investments, to improve your quality of experience working with Extreme and to provide you with the high performance networking your end users require.
