D-Link DWL-8710AP – IP67 rated, POE, Wi-Fi AC, Access Point

D-Link has released an SME/Enterprise/Academic grade access point that provides system administrators with a highly configurable device and totally manageable wireless LAN options.

If you have a campus or simply want to provide Wi-Fi access outdoors at a café, this IP67 weather resistant, Wi-Fi AC 1200, dual band, 2x 2 MIMO, POE, Access Point is what you need.

It is IP67-rated which means weather and dust resistant, it uses POE (Power over Ethernet) that can be provided by a POE switch or injector (included), and has dual, surge-protected, Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports (one for POE/LAN and one for any Ethernet device).

It supports dual band 2.4GHz up to 300Mbps and 5GHz up to 867Ghz via a 2 x 2 antenna system.

The 132-page manual provides insight into the high level of manageability to allow individual and group access, Quality of Service, clustering, performance statistics, and various alerts.

  • Next Generation Connectivity – Ideal for small-to-medium-businesses (SMBs) to enterprises with dual-band support for 802.11ac devices and over 1 Gbps combined speed for reliable connections.
  • Versatile Management – Simplify access point deployment with a self-configuring cluster mode and RF resource management for detecting weak signal strength.
  • Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) Support – Prioritises time-sensitive traffic in the event of a network data congestion; when multiple access points are in close proximity the access points will refuse new association requests once its resources are fully utilised, ensuring no single AP is overburdened by balancing traffic.
  • Performance – Smooth and stable performance with a powerful CPU, beamforming for greater coverage, and band steering for managing traffic.
  • Lifetime Limited Warranty.
  • Supports up to 32 Virtual Access Points (VAP) – Provides administrators with the flexibility to easily assign access to different classes of users.
  • Flexible Wi-Fi QoS Schemes – Offers controlled and balanced Quality of Service access based flexible policies.
  • Power over Ethernet – PoE simplifies and expands installation options, with no supplemental power cabling required.
