Eat feat: Yumtable claims first OZ API partnership with Uber

Yumtable’s partnered with Uber, launching #UberDINING to randomly select users each Friday to receive a free mystery CBD dining experience for two and return Uber travel.

Online restaurant booking service Yumtable has partnered with Uber to launch #UberDINING.

Yumtable offer diners the choice of 1,900+ restaurants when booking via their app or website, covering all types of cuisines, price ranges, locations and special offers. Through its partnership with Uber, Yumtable says it is looking forward to introducing more people and restaurants to dining out in the 21st century.

From 10 May 2015, Yumtable’s app will integrate the Uber experience, which will ‘offer diners a seamless way to book, ride and dine’, letting diners ‘book a table and arrive in style with Uber, eliminating the stress of parking or waiting for public transport’.

It’s also a nifty way to get home, especially if your dining experience has been more liquid than driving rules would allow.

Naturally, the press release from Yumtable is simply a giant marketing promotion for the two services, but both Yumtable and Uber are at least coming to the table with a couple of taste tempters.

First up is that brand new Uber users can sign into the Uber app and use the promo code YUMTABLE to get $20 off their first ride and to be notified when the #UberDINING promotion begins.

Existing Uber users can enter promo code UberDINING to be notified when #UberDINING begins.

Then there’s that #UberDINING promotion itself, which kicks off from 10 May 2015.

#UberDINING is the celebration of the Yumtable and Uber partnership, and every Friday beginning in May, #UberDINING will give lucky users the chance to win ‘the ultimate free dining experience.’

The winners will be picked up by a private Uber chauffeur and taken to a mystery dining location at one of the city’s best restaurants where they can sit back, relax and enjoy a dinner for two. Where are you going? What will you be eating? Nobody knows, which the two companies naturally say is all part of ‘the fun!’

Levi Atron, GM of Yumtable said: “We’re very excited to fully integrate the Uber experience within the Yumtable app, driving an Australian first API partnership with Uber” says Levi Aron, General Manager of Yumtable.

“It’s very exciting to be partnering with Uber. We are looking forward to expanding the boundaries of the hospitality industry and providing a better and more integrated experience to Australian diners.

"Not only is this a win for the customer, but also for the restaurants as we continue to accelerate Yumtable’s restaurant growth across Australia. The world is our oyster at this stage!” concludes Aron.
