Freelancer.com hits 8 million users

By

Outsourcing and crowdsourcing marketplace, Freelancer.com, says it has broken through the eight million user mark, claiming the total number of users now surpass the combined vale of all of its nearest competitors.

The company trumpeted its new users base to coincide with the launch of 10 new languages on its website, bringing the total to 30 languages and providing what it says is a ”more seamless and tailored experience, complimented by an around the clock multilingual support team and local currency support and payment options.”

New languages on Freelancer.com are Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Russian, Polish, Czech, Bengali, Hindi, Japanese and Romanian.

According to Matt Barrie, Freelancer.com Chief Executive, with eight million users, 30 languages, 15 currencies, and a 24/7 support team that speaks 10 languages, Freelancer.com “truly is the world’s global workforce for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

“No other freelancing marketplace in the world comes close in terms of the number of users, languages, currencies or support.”

Barrie said the introduction of the new languages and functionality broadened the outsourcing and crowdsourcing experience beyond the English speaking world and into the burgeoning markets of Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Freelancer.com claims over 4.6 million projects in 600 categories of work have been posted on the site to date, and according to Barrie this has have saved western businesses an estimated US$1 billion in costs.
