Tele-IP wins Melbourne Business School deal

By

Voice and data communications provider, Tele-IP (ASX:TEE) has won a dual-campus data communications deal with the Melbourne Business School using Huawei technology.

Under the agreement, Melbourne Business School has awarded Tele-IP the supply and integration of its Melbourne and Mount Eliza based campuses data communications network exclusively deploying Huawei's full range of end-to-end datacom products encompassing core, edge and access network layers as well as provision for network management software.

Ken McDonald, CIO of Melbourne Business School, said, 'Three main factors separated Huawei and Tele-IP from other vendors. Firstly, Huawei's strategy and ability to deliver an end to end network and telecommunications solution for now and the future. Secondly, Tele-IP showed a willingness to view the opportunity as a strategic long term partnership and finally, Huawei and Tele-IP's willingness to look beyond their normal business and to actively contribute to the Schools educational
offering.'

Tele-IP has concurrently announced that it has signed an agreement to be a reseller of the full range of Huawei Datacom products distributed by Downer CTG.

Rick Wakeham, national sales and marketing manager, Tele-IP, said, 'The Huawei Datacom proposition is very compelling when you consider their extensive range of E2E products bundled with Huawei's reputation for quality, competitiveness and innovation. Huawei is growing rapidly with a massive commitment to R&D and are an ideal fit to our growing position in the design installation and maintenance of converged IP networks.'
