ParaZero to merge with Delta Drone South Africa Featured

Australian drone safety systems company ParaZero is merging with international drone services provider Delta Drone South Africa.

ParaZero (ASX:PRZ) says the merger will result in Australia's first "Drones as a Service" company to relist on ASX.

Announcement of the proposed merger follows ParaZero’s completion of a $5 million capital raising which it says was strongly supported by domestic and international investors.

ParaZero will acquire 100% of the share capital in Delta Drone South. and says it will follow the acquisition with the finalisation of the formal relisting process with ASX.

The new company will be headquartered in Adelaide.

ParaZero list key points of the merger as:

  • The merged entity will take care of everything in the air - managing all safety, compliance, data and survey collation through drone activity and data turnaround for local agricultural, mining and Oil & Gas-related industries, so the companies can focus on everything on the ground. This an addressable market in 2020 of around A$277 million in Australia alone, or US$486m globally.
  • Mining and agriculture companies will be able to completely outsource their increasingly complex drone services to increase the safety and productivity of their large-scale operations. Drones enable fast and accurate survey data, blast monitoring and tailings dam management, collecting up to 200 data points a month with the info available on the same day as the drone flight – a huge increase in productivity over old surveying techniques.
  • Delta Drone is an established player in this market, providing aerial surveying and mapping, security and surveillance, blast monitoring and fragment analysis as well as thermal leak detection for mining customers in South Africa, Ghana and Namibia. The company’s survey and mapping solution removes surveyors from dangerous areas to increase safety and data turnaround time. In addition, its provision of progress data on each 12 hourly shift enables real-time planning and execution to improve efficiency and productivity on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Current customers include South 32 and Newmont Mining with Delta Drone ensuring compliance with all regulatory, insurance and maintenance requirements.
