"Nick Marks' wealth of experience in leading business-wide, digital transformations, combined with his in-depth knowledge of both the public and private sector, makes him the perfect person to lead Intelematics, as it continues to disrupt the mobility solutions market," said outgoing CEO Rod Chapman.
Marks will take over when Chapman retires in June 2020.
Marks joins Intelematics from Optus, where he most recently worked as director of information technology.

He previously worked for Macquarie Group (most recently as head of operations and identity management services), Infigen Energy, and the New South Wales Government.
Earlier in his career he held a senior consultant role at Novell.
Marks is a member of the University of New South Wales council risk committee, and a director of vehicle-tracking company Euclidic Systems.
Intelematics paid tribute to Chapman, noting that under his leadership the company went through through a business-wide digital transformation, diversified into products that resolved mass mobility problems, and launched an e-commerce store.
"It's been a privilege to serve as CEO of Intelematics," said Chapman.
"Our products keep people informed, secure and connected and deliver significant value to our customers across Australia, Europe and North America. Today, Intelematics is in a strong position – we are innovation-driven, agile and responsive to market needs and have plenty of exciting new products in the pipeline," he said.
"Retirement is never an easy decision, but I am confident that under Nick Marks' leadership, Intelematics will capitalise on the transformation that our company has undergone."
