Is Sales as a Service the new SaaS?

By

A Melbourne-based IT solutions provider is replacing its in-house salespeople with SalesTribe's Sales as a Service.

IT solutions provider eBlueprint has turned to Melbourne-based SalesTribe's on-demand sales force.

Managing director Richard Lynders told iTWire that eBlueprint had experienced "a large number of misses with salespeople over the last few years" when they over-promised and under-delivered, so the company "liked the value proposition" offered by SalesTribe.

SalesTribe provides eBlueprint with a sales department as a service, helping with the go to market strategy and providing insight into potential clients, as well as other parts of the sales process.

It's an easy engagement, with no capital outlays, Lynders observed, and it leaves eBlueprint free to concentrate on the technical and service aspects of its business.

"We're growing quite quickly and finding it hard to keep up" when it comes to sales, so it is good to have a reliable partner looking after that function, he said.

Lynders described the partnership as "very strategic", and one that would help eBlueprint build relationships with its customers.

He heard about SalesTribe when talking to another IT company that was experiencing similar issues to eBlueprint. A meeting was arranged, and "we really liked what they had to offer", he said.

SalesTribe was recently selected to join the UK Department for International Trade's Global Entrepreneur Programme, which aims to assist entrepreneurs and early-stage technology businesses and start-ups looking to relocate their business to the UK.

So far the programme has helped relocate 340 businesses to the UK, creating more than 1000 jobs in that country.
