DroneUp picks Elsight’s Halo platform to power its delivery drones

By

Unmanned aerial vehicle services provider DroneUp has agreed to purchase Elsight’s Halo, a modular, carrier agnostic, AI-powered connectivity platform, to support its initial fleet parcel of delivery drones.

According to Elsight, a drone connectivity solutions company, Halo provides a robust and uninterrupted connectivity solution for command-and-control redundancy certification and critical and secure data transmission.

DroneUp says that its collaboration validates Elsight’s potential for growth within the drone industry.

Elsight CEO Yoav Amitai (pictured) comments on DroneUp’s decision to choose Elsight.

“This order from DroneUp affirms the validity of our design-win strategy within the drone industry. We are delighted that DroneUp has chosen us to leverage our Halo bonded connectivity solution to ensure absolute connection confidence to their drones for commercial deliveries,” Amitai says.

“Such orders are a great indication for Elsight’s suite of connectivity solutions, and our ability to be a solution provider wherever and whenever businesses need absolute and uncompromised connection confidence.”

Milestones
Last 17 June 2021, CEO and president John Furner announced Walmart’s strategic investment in DroneUp.

Then, on 22 November 2021, Droneup and Walmart jointly announced their first multi-site commercial drone parcel delivery operations and launched drone delivery order website, Delivery on the Fly.

In 2021, DroneUp was given the chance to represent and sit on the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Aviation Rule Making Committee (ARC) to participate in the development of beyond line-of-sight drone flights.

DroneUp chief technology officer John Vernon will represent the company on the aviation committee.
