Last 17 June 2021, CEO and president John Furner announced Walmart’s strategic investment in DroneUp.
Then, on 22 November 2021, Droneup and Walmart jointly announced their first multi-site commercial drone parcel delivery operations and launched drone delivery order website, Delivery on the Fly.
In 2021, DroneUp was given the chance to represent and sit on the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Aviation Rule Making Committee (ARC) to participate in the development of beyond line-of-sight drone flights.
DroneUp chief technology officer John Vernon will represent the company on the aviation committee.
