University of Waikato picks Tribal student marketing and recruitment system

Open day at the University of Waikato Open day at the University of Waikato

The University of Waikato will be using the Tribal Student Marketing and Recruitment system for the next three years.

The university has been using separate systems for outreach, marketing enquiries and event management, but that failed to give a clear view of any individual student's interactions, and required administrators to use slow, manual processes.

The University of Waikato selected the Tribal Student Marketing and Recruitment system in the light of its rapid deployability, strong customer references, large installed user base, and ease of integration with the existing SITS:Vision student management system.

Implementation began in November 2021 with go-live for event management scheduled for March 2022 and the remaining functions in May 2022.

Tribal Student Marketing and Recruitment will provide staff with a single source of information, with workflows and automation to ensure students and applicants receive timely, relevant and tailored feedback..

It is based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, integrates with student management systems, helps meet recruitment targets in a competitive landscape, captures data from initial enquiry through to admission, routes enquiries to appropriate staff members, and supports recruitment marketing campaigns and event management across email, text, social media and web.

Student Marketing and Recruitment's reporting functions allow institutions to to develop and monitor key performance indicators and drive efficiency and effectiveness in its recruitment and support functions.

“We required a solution that could be deployed rapidly while maximising the opportunity to improve our recruitment activities. The Tribal Student Marketing and Recruitment solution meets that need and provides a solid foundation to evolve and tailor our CRM processes over time," said University of Waikato director of student services Mike Calvert.

"Our process of continuous improvement will be informed by the insights that Tribal’s powerful reporting tools will provide, and we’ll be able to leverage Tribal's considerable experience working with universities around the world while moving quickly to fast-track our CRM deployment. There is also plenty of opportunity to tailor our solution over time as our understanding and experience grows.”

Tribal Group New Zealand general manager Steve Exley said “We are excited to continue to support the University of Waikato and to introduce our Tribal Dynamics platform into the suite of Tribal products that the university uses. We are all focused on the initial implementation phase and delivering a quality outcome for the university.”

The other Tribal Student Marketing and Recruitment users in the region are Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi in Whakatane, New Zealand, and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
