South Australia's Department for Correctional Services has chosen Fujitsu Australia to provide the iSAFE integrated offender management system.

Fujitsu will implement the new system – which is expected to be fully operational in 2023 – in partnership with Syscon Justice Systems.

iSAFE is designed to ensure sensitive and critical information related to offenders can be accessed across all relevant law enforcement agencies, removing paper-based processes, improving cyber security, enhancing case management, and helping ensure safer decision making through better support for real time access to information.

Minister for the Department for Correctional Services Vincent Tarzia said "Fujitsu will design, test, implement the iSAFE solution and provide five years of ongoing support and maintenance, with the option of extension."

Department for Correctional Services executive director of iSAFE and end to end case management Annette McKee said "The new Fujitsu/Syscon system offers an exciting opportunity for more streamlined and digitised business operations that will support DCS decision making and more end-to-end case management across corrections from entry to exit."

Fujitsu Australia head of public sector industry Dave Lennon said "Fujitsu is pleased to be selected as a trusted digital transformation partner by the South Australian government to undertake this project.

"We look forward to partnering with the Department for Correctional Services to deliver transformational innovation that's set to deliver significantly improved system functionality and efficiencies and underpin agile decision making for the state's corrections sector."
