ASG diversifies with Dowling Consulting acquisition

By
ASG Group has acquired Melbourne-based Dowling Consulting.

Perth-based IT services provider ASG Group has added a consulting organisation to its stable.

Dowling Consulting has a blue-chip client list that includes Australia Post, National Australia Bank, Victoria Police, Bluescope Steel, Pacific Brands, The University of Melbourne, Adelaide University, StarTrack Express, Visy, ANSTO, Energy Australia, and SA Health.

"We see great potential for ASG to leverage Dowling's extensive knowledge and expertise to secure contracts for our other divisions, especially managed services," said ASG CEO Geoff Lewis.

The deal also bolsters ASG's presence on the east coast, as Dowling Consulting has 33 professional staff located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

"The attraction of ASG to Dowling was that it is nimble, agile but strong performer in the outsourcing space with services that are complementary to our own offering," said David Dowling, managing director of Dowling Consulting.

"We assessed a number of opportunities and joining with ASG was by far the best choice in terms of strategic fit, growth orientation and cultural alignment," he added.

According to Lewis, ASG is currently assessing other potential acquisitions and further announcements are expected in the coming weeks.

ASG has won a number of significant contracts with public and private sector clients including the Federal Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Western Power and Qantas.
