Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2 event, 20 Oct in US, 1am 21 Oct in Australia Featured

Next week will be busy - we'll have launches from Apple, Google and now Samsung, which is unveiling its Galaxy Unpacked 2 event, with new hardware and software expected, but will these be brand new devices, or iterations of existing models?

It seems a tad too early for Samsung Galaxy S22 range to be unveiled, and apparently the current chip shortages mean that any Samsung Galaxy S21 FE or "fan edition" won't arrive until January 2022 at the earliest.

Now, next will be busy - Apple is "unleashing" new Macs and more at 4am AEST on the 19th of October, Google will unveil its Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones at 4am AEST on the 20th of October, and now comes this new of Samsung's 1am AEST launch on October 21.

Rumours online suggest Samsung will introduce different colour variations of its existing Galaxy Fold and Flip 3 editions, but presumably, there is more than that.

Over at the official news release at the Samsung global newsroom, we see the message: "As we continue to look for ways to express ourselves, now more than ever consumers are leaning on mobile devices to showcase their unique individuality."

Speculation suggests this isn't just hardware, but is also all about the software, meaning we might see Samsung's One UI 4.0, its interface on top of stock Android that gives Samsung devices their unique look that differentiates their software from other Android devices out there.

So, with the Australian invitation to the Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 stating it will "continue the excitement of mobile innovation, creativity and expression," which includes the statement that you should "make sure to tune in for a close-up look at the latest Galaxy devices," we're sure to see hardware, software and more of Samsung's robust ecosystem unveiled, all designed to get you to consider Samsung's technology, rather than that of Apple's, Google's, Microsoft's, or anyone else's.
