EFM’s launches toughest, most protective new accessories yet for Samsung Galaxy S21 models

Top tier case and screen protector maker EFM has launched its new range of stylish, extra protective and germ-killing range of Case Armour and Screen Armour products purpose-designed for the 5G-enabled Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra, with the range coming to retail on January 29, 2021.

Just as EFM did with its iPhone 12 range of cases with the same updated hygiene standards driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, along with incredibly tough D3O technology with 5G Signal Plus Technology on the Cayman, Alta and Monaco Wallet Case Armour ranges, these top-of-the-line cases and screen protectors are vastly more advanced and protective than cases which are “just” leather or plastic, or basis screen protectors that break too easily.

After all, with the constant 21st-century need to be connected on-the-go via handheld devices, which are all addicted to for virtually every aspect of modern life, it has never been more important to ensure smartphones and tablets are protected from germs and bacteria, along with accidental drops and stumbles that see our phones crashing from our hands and onto the floor or ground.

Without a screen protector or case, your $1000 to $2000+ smartphone could see scratches, dents or worse, and despite ever tougher screens, a screen protector stops your screen from smashing into tiny shards of glass - a fate we’ve seen befall phones all too often.

So, what does EFM have to say about its new S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra range of cases?

We’re told that the Cayman Case, Alta Case, Monaco Wallet Case and Zurich Case designed for the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G ranges features “new antimicrobial material built into the ultra-flexible, lightweight finish which reacts to moisture, creating an environment that bacteria, found in day-to-day life, cannot survive in”.

Carl Bonham, CEO of EFM said: “With a heightened awareness of hygiene from our consumers, we want to deliver device accessories that provide a sense of ease by helping our consumers protect themselves when interacting with their devices as much as they do.”

The EFM Samsung Galaxy S21 range also includes D3O technology, the revolutionary impact protection material from globally recognised impact material specialists D3O, that offers the world-class protection against damage.

EFM says that research issued by Finder revealed that from 2012 to 2017, Australians had “spent more than $755 million on replacing broken or lost phones, with damaged display screens being one of the key problem areas.”

And, with top-of-the line smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S21 costing Australians more than $1,000, investing in strong and sturdy device protection is a no brainer for many smartphone users.

Presumably with good bonhomie, Bonham said: “We know smartphones are the most used consumer handheld item. The hardware can last for years, but only if the user takes special care and doesn’t damage their device.

“For such a frequently used device, military grade protection is necessary for all smartphone users to provide that extra layer of protection that leads to less damage and more personal savings.”

With EFM’s Case Armour ranges, you get D3O material that includes “5G Signal Plus Technology”. EFM explains this technology “provides the world’s most advanced impact protection alongside optimal signal strength for 5G device owners.”

While an official industry testing protocol or certification standard has not yet been established for 5G case compatibility, EFM says that Samsung set an initial permittivity benchmark of sub-2.5.

D3O with 5G Signal Plus Technology is “the only material available that meets this benchmark, with a 5G permittivity of sub-2.49, providing consumers with 10% stronger signal output than other materials in market.”

All of that said, a case, even one augmented with D3O technology, is still only one side of the protective story. The second side combines an EFM case with its ScreenSafe Screen Armour technology for full 360-degree protection.

ScreenSafe Screen Armour for the S21 ranges is a flexible hybrid glass film infused with D3O impact protection material, to offer “market-leading impact protection to a device’s screen.”

EFM says Manufactured from 7 specialised layers including a D3O-infused layer, the EFM ScreenSafe® Screen Armour is the only screen protector in Australia to provide up to 8 times more shatter resistance than an unprotected device screen, whilst retaining 9H hardness and full optical clarity and ultra-responsive touch surface.

Liam Higton-Shirt, Product Development Manager at EFM said: “Our goal was to create the toughest, most protective Screen Armour range on the market, without compromising any other key requirements such as scratch resistance, clarity or tactile feedback.

“By combining D3O with market leading, premium materials and coatings, we have created the next generation of screen armour protection.”

From January 29, 2021, you’ll be able to find the EFM Samsung Galaxy S21 5G ranges in-store at JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, licensed Telstra stores, Optus outlets, PTC, HappyTel and other leading independent mobile phone stores as well as the EFM online store, with free delivery.

More product information:

Featuring antimicrobial protection
Selected EFM products have antimicrobial properties built-in to the ultra-flexible, lightweight finish that reacts with moisture to create an environment that bacteria can no longer live in, killing up to 99.99% of germs.

Built with D3O technology
EFM has an exclusive partnership with D3O, makers of military, industrial, sports and motorcycle protection. D3O’s unique patented materials, based on non-Newtonian principles, are soft and flexible in a relaxed state, but harden upon impact to dissipate impact energy and reduce transmitted force.

Supported by 5G Signal Plus Technology
The incorporation of 5G Signal Plus Technology allows for stronger signals to pass through the case armour. This gives users clear audio and video call quality, faster download speeds and longer battery life, while providing best-in-class impact protection.

Impact protection above industry standard
EFM’s ScreenSafe Screen Armour with D3O has been through the steel ball drop testing which follows industry testing standards. At EFM, we take this one step further by dropping a 64g steel ball onto all four corners (typically the weakest point) and the standard central point of the device. Due to the unique composition of our hybrid film/glass screen armour with D3O, we not only passed but outperformed all other products in market that were tested against.
