Home Home Tech eBay Plus Weekend on June 23 and 24 promises genuinely massive deals up to 72% off

eBay is going all out with its new "Plus Weekend" promotion, promising its "hottest ever deals" with what took like massive discounts of "up to" 72% off 15 million new items across the site, on 23 and 24 June only.

Promising a "game-changing shopping event" to shock the ships that are Amazon, Kogan and everyone else, the "first-ever two-day annual shopping weekend" exclusively for customers of eBay premium shopping membership, eBay Plus, the "Plus Weekend" event sounds like it's filled with plenty of plusses and no minus.

The event "will run from 10am on 23 June to midnight on 24 June, offering the biggest savings and best deals ever seen on the platform".

During Plus Weekend, eBay will announce "12 ‘mega deals’ hourly, offering up to 72% off on the latest products from brands including Dyson, Samsung and Go Pro".

"In addition, Aussies signed up to the program will receive 15% off 15 million eBay Plus items, from more than 30,000 retailers including Myer, Target and The Good Guys."

Julie Nestor, chief marketing officer of eBay A/NZ said, “We know deals and free delivery are two of the most important factors for loyal eBay shoppers, so we’ve rewarded Plus members with their very own annual shopping holiday.

“Black Friday and Cyber Monday have taken the world by storm, so it’s exciting to be the first marketplace to offer an exclusive event for the Australian online retail industry.”

So, what are just some of the Plus Weekend deals and offers?

A taste test teaser of the deals coming from 10am include:

Tech

  • Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute+ – our best ever price, to be revealed on ebay.com.au, 23 June

Note, there was a 9am embargo to all of this information, but at 12.02am June 23 News.com.au broke this embargo and revealed the Dyson price is a whopping $400 off the $999 RRP. iTWire chose to respect the embargo despite it being broken, so this article only went live at 9am today - maybe that's the dumb thing to do but it's the honourable thing to do.

  • Samsung S9 64GB Mixed colours – price $1,299 now $799 (38% off)
  • Philips SB300B ShoqBox Bluetooth Waterproof Portable Speaker – price $89.00 now $24.95 (72% off)
  • GoPro Hero 6 – price $578.00 now $369.00 (36% off)
  • Nintendo Switch – price $519.75 now $319.00 (38% off)

Homewares and beauty

  • FOREO LUNA Mini 2 – price $176.70 now $109 (50% off)
  • Royal Comfort Luxury Bamboo Quilt - All Sizes – price $59.95 now $29.95 (50% off)

Liquor and grocery

  • Keenan's Bridge Shiraz 2017 (12 Bottles) – price $90.00 now $49.95 (45% off)

Nestor added: “Plus Weekend will give members the chance to get their hands on the biggest discounts from the best known brands, but make sure you get in quick, the mega-deals are only while stocks last", which is of course what you'd expect any good marketer to say when they have special deals on and want their big sale to be a big success!

We're also reminded that "Plus Weekend follows the recent launch of eBay’s feature-packed shopping membership, eBay Plus".

"For just $49 for 12 months or for the introductory price of $29, Plus members receive unlimited free delivery and returns on 15 million eligible items, as well as exclusive access to special deals, double flybuys points and dedicated customer service.

"Shoppers can trial eBay Plus free for 30 days, and take advantage of Plus Weekend."
