WEBINAR 15 OCTOBER: Digital Accessibility with Greg Barnett from AccessHQ - VIDEO INTERVIEW

Given the current Covid-19 crisis and the greater shift to digital channels by customers, the need for digital accessibility is paramount. However, many business leaders in Australia are often unaware of their organisation’s accessibility obligations by law or can be overwhelmed by a myriad of technical hurdles when it comes to implementation.

WATCH THE VIDEO INTERVIEW EMBEDDED BELOW. The Dialog Group is presenting a series of six expert webinars to give clients the knowledge and insights they need to deliver technology excellence, with its next webinar on Digital Accessibility, presented by Greg Barnett, GM of Digital Experience Practice at AccessHQ.

As part of this series, Greg Barnett will deliver a free 30 mins webinar, equipping business leaders with the knowledge and insights they need to drive accessibility excellence in their organisations. Greg is one of Australia’s leading digital accessibility experts and has helped many leading organisations, in Australia and overseas, overcome their accessibility challenges,

The webinar is on Thursday, October 15 2020, from 1.00 to 1.30pm AEDT via Zoom, with free registration available here.

This webinar is tailored to a business audience and will highlight in jargon free language, the opportunity for clear quick wins for your current and future projects.

Here's my video interview with Greg Barnett, the article continues thereafter, please read on!

  • Types of disabilities
  • Rules for accessibility in Australia (including WCAG Guidelines)

  • Common accessibility pitfalls
  • Building accessibility into your requirements
  • Q and A

In the video interview which is embedded above, I introduce Greg Barnett and ask him to tell us about AccessHQ, what it does and when it started.

Then Greg explained where the digital experience team sits within Access HQ, and his journey in the world of tech that has led him to his current GM position.

We discussed the state of digital accessibility in Australia in 2020, and whether there's more to do, as well as talking about digital accessibility for those with different abilities and disabilities, whether digital accessibility was being worked on as a core part of the process or whether it was being bolted on at the end.

We looked at what the webinar would cover and who should attend.

We then covered parent company Dialog and what its various arms do, in a nutshell.

After this came a look at where digital accessibility will be by 2030, great advice that Greg has received in life, and his final message to viewers, readers and webinar attendees.

So, if you have a spare 30 minutes to learn about Digital Accessibility on Thursday, October 15 2020 from 1.00 to 1.30pm AEDT via Zoom, you can register to attend free here.
