Business management software solutions vendor, Sage, has released the new ACT! contact and customer manager solution with its ACT! Connect connected service which it says facilitates user access to their contact records and calendar items from virtually anywhere.

Sage, a leading global supplier of business management software solutions to 6.2 million small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) worldwide, has announced the new Sage ACT! 2012 contact and customer manager plus Sage ACT! Connect (1), a Sage Connected Service that lets users access their Sage ACT! contact records and calendar items from virtually anywhere. Sage ACT! 2012 feature additions include Gmail®, Google® Contacts and Google Calendarâ„¢ integration, expanded and faster universal search capabilities and a virtual notepad (2), among other enhancements that allow Sage ACT! to function as the sales and marketing command centre for small and midsized businesses.

After a $1.2 billion acquisition deal with UK-based Sage Group fell through late last week, Australia's largest business software maker MYOB has been acquired by US private equity firm Bain Capital for an undisclosed sum.
