A respected American security researcher says the FBI's advice, to reboot all routers in order to supposedly get rid of malware called VPNFilter, is "best described as moronic".
The FBI has used a court order to gain control of a domain that served as an emergency back-up for a piece of malware known as VPNFilter, making it possible for infected network devices to now reboot and avoid loading the second and third stage of the malware.
The FBI has grossly exaggerated, on more than one occasion, the number of digital devices it cannot access due to encryption, claiming a figure of 7800 when the actual figure was between 1000 and 2000.
did this ever get sorted?
