Mobile network operators in the Asia Pacific region, including in Australia, see support for new revenues and a lower costs of total ownership as the key drivers to deploy 5G by 2023, according to new research.
Global networking company Ciena has launched what it says is the next-generaton optical and software technologies that empower network operators to tune, control and dynamically adjust optical capacity in an on-demand world where IoT, 5G, content delivery and cloud are rapidly redefining network requirements.
Ericsson and Telstra claim they have successfully demonstrated the ability to encrypt data securely while in transit between Los Angeles and Melbourne at 10Gbps, using Ciena’s ultra-low latency 10G wire-speed encryption solution.
