Global telecommunications giant Ericsson is increasing its investment in the US to support the accelerated build out of its 5G services in the North American market.

The move to 5G mobile services in regional Australia and metropolitan areas has taken a further step forward with the Federal Government’s announcement that 125 MHz of spectrum in the 3.6 GHz band will be sold at competitive auction.

Mobile network operators in the Asia Pacific region, including in Australia, see support for new revenues and a lower costs of total ownership as the key drivers to deploy 5G by 2023, according to new research.
