Sam Varghese has been writing for iTWire since 2006, a year after the sitecame into existence. A 3-D bio-printing platform known as RASTRUM has been installed at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and will enable scientists to print three-dimensional tissues that mimic the human body, at unprecedented scale and speed.

Researchers at the Australian National University have collaborated with their counterparts at the California Institute of Technology to come up with a way of combining silicon with another material known as perovskite to more efficiently convert sunlight into electricity.

T-Mobile US and Sprint have been given permission to go ahead with their proposed merger after national security reviews cleared the deal, which is now expected to be finalised in the first half of 2019.
