The open-source file syncing and sharing software company ownCloud, which was forced to shut its operations in the US when most of its staff walked out to join a fork named Nextcloud, has obtained fresh funding and will continue to operate in Germany.
Just 11 days after it was formed from the ashes of another company, Nextcloud has released version 9 of its open-source file syncing and sharing software.
The forking of ownCloud, an open-source file syncing and sharing software company, to create a new company Nextcloud, has led to the former having its funds cut off in the US. Its German operations are not affected.
