Samsung Australia hit with $14 million penalty by ACCC over Galaxy phones water resistance claims

Samsung Electronics Australia has been ordered by the Federal Court to pay $14 million in penalties after it admitted misleading consumers about the suitability of various Samsung Galaxy phones to be submerged in pool or sea water.

Origin Energy pays $126,000 penalty for allegedly misleading electricity customers

Origin Energy has paid a penalty of $126,000 after the competition regulator, the ACCC, issued it with an infringement notice for an alleged false or misleading representation in a price increase letter sent to residential electricity customers in Victoria.
