National Broadband Network operator NBN Co and five retail service providers have been authorised by the competition regulator the ACCC to work together on measures to keep telecommunications networks operating effectively during the COVID-19 crisis.
The chief of Australia’s competition watchdog, the ACCC, Rod Sims, says competition has a critical role to play in getting the economy running efficiently again post the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis.
The telecommunications regulator ACMA says it is reviewing and adjusting its work programs so the communications and media sectors can prioritise their business-critical functions and continue communicating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
