The chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) Rod Sims says the competition watchdog is focused on the critical role of the communications sector during the current COVID-19 crisis and the delivery of better services while maintaining longer term competition and efficiency in the market.

The telecommunications regulator ACMA says it is reviewing and adjusting its work programs so the communications and media sectors can prioritise their business-critical functions and continue communicating during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Indian IT outsourcing firm Infosys has launched its Melbourne 5G Living Lab, that it says will help organisations to become “live enterprises” by imagining and creating new economies with 5G technology – while simultaneously supporting communication service providers to accelerate and monetise their 5G network deployment.

Rowland lashes government over ACMA review
