Chinese telecommunications firm ZTE Corporation has released the first smartphone with an under-display camera, in this case the selfie camera. The ZTE Axon 20 5G went on pre-order in China on 1 September for 2198 yuan (A$438).
China issued its first commercial 5G licences in June last year and since then lighter and thinner devices have tended to increase take-up, the technology analyst firm IDC says.
The chances of Chinese telecommunications equipment vendors Huawei Technologies and ZTE Corporation playing a role in India's 5G networks have been dealt a sharp blow following border clashes between troops from the two countries.
