Forced Windows 10 upgrades have again landed Microsoft in court, this time in Illinois, with three residents of the state seeking redress for the company's conduct that they allege resulted in data loss and damage to their computers.
Microsoft has unveiled its latest method to make users of Windows 7 and 8/8.1 upgrade to Windows 10, by making updates unavailable if users of these versions of Windows are running on systems which use the latest processors.
Windows 10 was the least secure of current Windows versions in 2016, with 46% more vulnerabilities than either Windows 8 or 8.1, according to an analysis of Microsoft's own security bulletins in 2016.
