State of play RSPs vs NBN Co

In the last couple of weeks we have witnessed assertive correspondence between the industry and NBN Co. Here is a summary what has taken place and what it means.

That's the title of an open letter sent by CEOs; Phillip Britt of Aussie Broadband, Kelly Bayer Rosmarin of Optus, Andy Penn of Telstra, Iñaki Berroeta of TPG Telecom and Kevin Russell of Vocus to NBN Co CEO Stephen Rue. They wrote to appeal to NBN Co's social responsibility towards all Australians requesting additional broadband capacity during this time of need. The letter was also copied to Paul Fletcher, Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts.

Vocus today announced it has migrated its contact centre platform to Amazon Connect, a scalable cloud contact centre on AWS. This allows it to deliver a more personalised digital experience for customers. The move took less than eight weeks and supports more than 5,000 customers 24x7.

Vertel, a privately-owned telecommunications carrier, along with specialist fibre and network solutions provider Vocus, has provided Cherry Tree Wind Farm with telecommunications infrastructure to facilitate 24/7 monitoring of the site and reliable communications for the team operating the windfarm.

Vocus shareholders have voted in favour of Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) and Aware Super’s acquisition of Vocus by scheme of arrangement. Both companies are looking forward to working with Vocus.

Telecommunications company Over the Wire joins Tier 1 voice providers such as Telstra, Optus, TPG, MyNetFone, and Vocus after it completed its Carrier Interconnect project, which it says is a milestone and has laid the foundation for a new phase of growth.
