Huawei Australia cuts staff, board in restructure

Chinese telecommunications equipment vendor Huawei Technologies is restructuring its Australian operations with the company having taken a major hit due to its being banned from playing a role in supplying equipment for Australian 5G networks.

Windows ransomware attacks cost Australia about US$39.8 million (A$60.4 million) in ransom demand costs in 2019 at the minimum, a study by the security firm Emsisoft has found. The estimated cost of these attacks, totalling 2874, was US$159.4 million.
