Six in 10 Australian adults count telemarketing calls as a problem, according to new research which reveals that Aussies perceive the calls to be a nuisance or annoying.
A Gold Coast travel booking company, Getaway Escapes, now in voluntary liquidation, is subject to court action by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) for allegedly committing numerous breaches of the Do Not Call Register Act and the Telemarketing and Research Industry Standard.
Telemarketers are slowly running out of people to call, with a total of nine million numbers now listed on the Do Not Call Register.
