Telstra has sacked four senior officials in a management shake-up, with chief financial officer Warwick Bray, technology lead Stephen Elop, wholesale chief Will Irving and media unit chief Joe Pollard all given pink slips.
Telstra is preparing to write down by $273 million the value of Ooyala, its US-based intelligent video business, to zero. The telco announced the writedown following what it says were substantial efforts over the past 18 months to improve the business performance.
Telstra has appointed former Ericisson ANZ boss, Håkan Eriksson, as its new chief technology officer, replacing the telco’s previous CTO, Vish Nandlall, who left the company under a cloud of controversy earlier this year.
