Global IT spending has surged to record heights in 2010 after pent-up demand caused by the GFC and subsequent recession in 2009, according to newly released data. Figures from research group IDC reveal that the global IT market grew by 8% year over year to more than $1.5 trillion, while the overall ICT market including telecoms services grew by 6% to almost $3 trillion in 2010.
