ESET team finds first UEFI rootkit in the wild

Slovakian security firm ESET has discovered an UEFI rootkit in the wild, a first of sorts, with the company saying this showed that such a rootkit was a real threat, not some conference topic.

A prime case of this was seen recently when the Associated Press claimed that the group that had allegedly targeted Hillary Clinton last year had also been hacking many other foes of the Russian state.
