Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ teardown

iFixit has completed a teardown of the Samsung Galaxy S8/+ and notes that the battery voltage, capacity, and design tolerances, and even the manufacturer, are virtually identical to the Note7 which was recalled due to battery issues.

iTWire has had an S8+ for the past five days under embargo until 19 April. The initial impressions are that it is certainly still the king of the Android world, offering almost every conceivable top-draw feature.

Samsung has been developing the GS8 for about 18 months now. It delayed the launch from later this week at Mobile World Congress to a new date – 29 March in New York. After three weeks of pre-sales, it will ship to customers on 21 April.
