Australia’s telecoms industry association, the Telecommunications Society (TelSoc), has put its support behind the Federal Government’s creation of the Broadband Advisory Council which the government says is designed to ‘maximise’ the country’s economic upside and increase digital connectivity.
A 32-page study titled The Gigabit Gap, released by Huawei Australia, the Telecommunications Association and consultancy OMDIA (formerly Ovum) on Monday, has come to the conclusion that it is time for the Coalition Government and the NBN Co to begin planning for the next stage of the national broadband network upgrade.
Australia’s Telecommunications Association Telsoc has repeated its call for the federal government to fast-track improvements to the country’s telecommunications infrastructure – including mobile and the National Broadband Network – as part of its response to the Coronavirus.
